Can and Should a Christian Write Erotic Literature?

Can a Christian Write and Read Erotica

Some say, “well, we all have sex! It was created by God and we all do it”. While others may think it’s a sin to live out sexual desire through literature.

Have you looked at the book of the Bible called Song of Solomon? That man was hot like fire verbally and written! LOL

Here are just a few bible scriptures…

“Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth—
for your love is more delightful than wine.” Song of Solomon 1:2

Sounds like a short erotic beginning to me.

“My lover is to me a sachet of myrrh
resting between my breasts.” Song of Solomon 1:13

Is that foreplay?

“I delight to sit in his shade,
and his fruit is sweet to my taste.” Song of Solomon 2:3

Hmmm I wander what they were doing!!!

“His left arm is under my head,
and his right arm embraces me.” Song of Solomon 2:6

A seasoned love maker.

“Scarcely had I passed them
when I found the one my heart loves.
I held him and would not let him go
till I had brought him to my mother’s house,
to the room of the one who conceived me.” Song of Solomon 3:4

He knows what he likes.

“Your two breasts are like two fawns,
like twin fawns of a gazelle
that browse among the lilies.” Song of Solomon 4:5

I bet he was not tilting soil…LOL

“Blow on my garden,
that its fragrance may spread abroad.
Let my lover come into his garden
and taste its choice fruits.” Song of Solomon 4:16

Call me Miss Jackson cause they are getting Nasty!!!! LOL

“I have taken off my robe—
must I put it on again?
I have washed my feet—
must I soil them again?
My lover thrust his hand through the latch-opening;
my heart began to pound for him.I arose to open for my lover,
and my hands dripped with myrrh,
my fingers with flowing myrrh,
on the handles of the lock.” Song of Solomon 5:3-5

The point is this, if such speakings are in the bible, then is it really wrong or a sin?

You tell me…WHAT’S YOUR VIEW?

I agree. It is okay because people do have sex and are going to do it anyway. But as a Christian I would have to say this is not the way of GOD. The bible clearly states sex outside of marriage is a sin. True I did it before I was married but that does not justify it or make it right. I know that what I was doing was wrong. As far as Erotica, I think it is ok to write it in the context of marriage and ok to read it to enhance sex with in a marriage. But if it is written outside the context of marriage then the author is glorifying sin and I believe they will be held accountable for it.

I don’t know. I am not a Christian. What do you think, is what matters.

Wow I am so very happy you hit this point and in the magazine I have an artical about the same thing, Why We think GOD stops at our bedroom door and just listens is funny to me, I mean do People really think GOD is not with them always, When you reach the point of orgasim is that not a spiritual things? The Very act of intercourse is of the Spirit, And when done in Love is a wonderful thing. I think it is not a matter of pointing fingers but knowing yourself and God and doing what isnot self pleasing but GOD pleasing, I mean He created us all to be very sexy and admired… So books and Images relating the views of ones mind is not ether taboo or embraced, I can only say being a child of GOD and owning an erotica magazine that my beliefs and morals do not stop in the Photo Shoots or God dose not stop at my door while I shoot, but instead I try to use my vision to grow and enlighten others and I hope that it is refleceted in my personna and in my life. :-)
